The girls’ festival

The Girls Festival is a famous day in Japan. This festival is practiced in houses with a girl andis for happiness and growth of girl. March 3 is girl’s festival. During this festival, we can see dolls displayed at many places. In Japan, the girls festival is called “Momo No Seku”.

Many families display dolls in their house. Dolls are displayed before the girls festival on March 3. These dolls are very beautiful. When this festival is drawing near, we often hear this festival’s song. This song’s music box is displayed with the dolls.

Though March 3 is a very famous day, the day is not a public holiday. People celebrate the doll’s festival in each house. For example, we eat Sakuramochi and Chirasizushi. Moreover we offer Hinaarare at dolls. There are various celebration ways.????????????????????

It is traditionally said that if you won’t put away dolls by March 3, you don’t get married. So many people put away dolls before the girls festival. In houses with a girl, March 3 is a special day.

Fireworks

Hello, I’m Hiroya.

I will introduce “Fuefuki’s fireworks” in Yamanashi. It is my hometown .

The famous event everyone knows is a fireworks event. Especially, Fuefuki’s firework is very beautiful. This year’s fireworks display will be the 57 time.  A lot of people come to it. The event will take place in August 21. I go to it with my family or friends every year.  It usually starts at 7:30. Besides, there are a lot of booths in fireworks event hall. So, i think we can enjoy it a lot.

If you don’t have a play for a trip in summer vacation,  i advise you to go to Yamanashi and fuefuki’s fireworks display. You will feel the beauty of the fireworks.

TANABATA!!

Hi! I’m Mizuki.

Japan has a lot of special days. I would like to introduce  Tanabata  my favorite special day.

“TANABATA” is on 7th July in Japan. People celebrate this day by writing wishes on Tanzaku and hanging them on bamboo. Tanzaku is small pieces of paper. Massages like “I wish well to my family” or “I hope  we can love each other”…  The bamboo and Tanzaku are displayed in many public places, like train station, schools and liblaries. But the bamboo and Tanzaku were often set afloat on a river in old days. Many areas in Japan have their own Tanabata customs. There is also a traditional Tanabata song. Probably all Japanese can sing this song.

In Hokkaido, there is Tanabata on 7th August, and there is “Rousokudase” song. In Hokkaido, children call at other house, and they sing Tanabata song. Then children can get many snacks! Like Halloween!

Hello, I am Shin. I want to share with you a special day of Japan. It is “Christmas”. Maybe, you know this day, but do you know what is Christmas? 

As you know, the day is in December 25th every year. People celebrate this day with lover or family, but most people who celebrate don’t know what they celebrate.

I am Christian, so I know that Christmas is when Jesus came into the world. In Christmas I celebrate with my family in church every year. But some my friends said, “I don’t know that Christian also celebrate Christmas.” And I know a temple which celebrates Christmas.

Korean New year’s day

Do you know “new year’s day”?

In korea, the new year’s day is one of the best national holidays.

 

First of all, we have a ceremony to remember our ancestors on that day.

We can see lots of relatives because that day is a family gathering day.

what’s more, we usually eat rice-cake soups and many other delicious traditional foods.

And we play a lot of traditional games, but nowadays it fading away..

To be frank, my favorite thing formal bow of respect to my elders.

Why?

 when we do this, we get pocket money.

so, I like  new year’s day.

Japanese doll’s festival

Hello my name is Momo. I want to introduce you about Girl’s day because it’s on my birthday!! Please enjoy.

On march 3rd, people celebrate The doll festival, or the Girl’s day. It is to wish healthy growth of  girls. Mostly in a family that has a female daughter, they display ornamental dolls which is called hina ningyo in Japanese. Families usually display them from February, and put them away right after march 3rd . It is said that displaying the dolls after march 3rd, will result in a late marriage for their daughters.

Hello!!My name is Narumi. Thank you for coming this show.I would like to introduce about Coming of age day.

Japan has a lot of special days. For example Cuture day,Labor thanksgiving day,Children’s day and Green day.

First, Coming of aged day is that hold when we become 20 years old.This day,girls of 20 years old wear a long-sleeved kimono.It is said hurisode in Japanese.It has many color or designs.Girls make up and bind her hair at the back.In addition,man wear a long pleated skirt worn over a kimono.It is said hakama in Japanese.Coming this day,people of 20 years old are distinctioned adult.

After the ceremony, generally people go to an alumni association of junior high school or high school.Everyone is glad to meet many friends.Every one is glad to meet old friends.They drink in there and talk.

In my home town Yokohama is held in Yokohama arena.There are so many people in Yokohama arena.And It is said that new adult people number of Yokohama  is many the best.

My hometown

 Hi, my name is Kaho. Thank you for coming this show. I would like to introduse about my hometown’s specoal day. there are many interesting obon events in Japan, but my hometown uncommon has exciting obon event. Let’s start!

  

 First, I introduse about my hometown. My hometown is Ishigaki island in Okinawa. It has many delicious food, many rare animals, and beautiful oceans. So “Kabira bay” is famous sightseeing place. 

 

My hometown’s obon has very fun event and every important in my area. Do you know “Shishimai”? “Shishimai” is a traditional folk enterstainment by ancestors. Moving mouth into yard means a talisman at misfortune and praying health. So, it respects from ancestoes. There is shishimai at midnight every year and people is very fun for next year.
