On march 3rd, people celebrate The doll festival, or the Girl’s day. It is to wish healthy growth of  girls. Mostly in a family that has a female daughter, they display ornamental dolls which is called hina ningyo in Japanese. Families usually display them from February, and put them away right after march 3rd . It is said that displaying the dolls after march 3rd, will result in a late marriage for their daughters.

Ghana Worksheet

Have you heard of Fufu? Do you know about the Black Stars? Have you ever been to Accra? can you guess what country these are connected to?

Hi, this is Momoko and this is Akane. We’d like to introduce Ghana to you on this show. Ghana is a unique place. We’ll be talking about basic facts and cultural highlights. We hope you enjoy our show!!!

The republic of Ghana is located in West Africa. The capital city is Accra. Ghana means “warrior king”. The flag is red, yellow and green. The black star in the middle stands for the lodestar of African freedom. Their official language is English, but they also have 47 ethnic languages. I think everyone knows the Japanese chocolate brand called “Ghana”. This is because Ghana is the second largest producer of cocoa in the world. Cocoa is used to make chocolate and is this country’s major exports.  (more…)

keep the faith

He who loses money losses much. He who loses a friend losses more. But he who loses faith loses all.” By Henry H. Haskins. This is how much I think faith is important. I have faith in my friends and family, and also myself. I believe in faith.

I have faith in my friends. It is because I want them to trust me too. If I don’t have faith in my friends, I think they won’t either. I have faith that they will tell me the truth. So I will tell them the truth too. Without faith, I think there is no true friendship.

I have faith in my family. I know that they will support me when I need support. And of course I want them to have faith in me that I will support them when they need help. Without faith, my parents wouldn’t let me live alone right now and I wouldn’t be able to live by myself without worries. I believe all families have faith in each other.

I have faith in myself. If I don’t have faith in myself, I don’t think I can make my desires and dreams come true. I have to think that I can make my dream come true. There is a saying like this “If you think you can win, you can win. Faith is necessary to victory.”By William Hazlitt. I think this is true.

I think faith is necessary in our daily life. Without faith, you will be living alone without anyone’s help. That is very sad. I hope you have faith in your friends and family too.

Hi =) My name is Momoko. Please call me Momo.My bunny’s name is Moni. Moni means love in Hawaii.

I was born and brought up in Yamanashi, so I was surrounded by mountains and saw Mt.Fuji everyday. I used to live in California when I was 5-12. I love California because it has great weather, food, and friends. I really wanna go back there!!

My characteristic is very active. I don’t like staying at home. I love to go shopping at Shibuya 109 and also going to concerts and events. I go at least 3times a month. My favorite singer is Jin Akanishi from KAT-TUN. I will be going to LA to see his show in June.

I sometimes work as a cast in movies and dramas. Last year I was in “Orutorosu no inu”, “hidamari no basho”,”BECK”,”Hanamizuki” etc. But it’s only a “Choi yaku” But I enjoy watching the filming and sometimes we get to talk to actors and actresses so it’s very exciting.

 Thank you !!
