Dream come true

Play

Hi, I’m Marie. I believe dreams come true.  I came to Tokyo from Hokkaido in 2008, and I experienced various things in university life: for example study abroad, traveling abroad, club activity and job hunting. When I was a high school student, my dream was go to abroad. I could get my dream.

I think that it is good to think positively. We should act.  It is necessary to make an effort to realize the dream. For example, professional baseball players have to practice hard and the person who can become a top player is limited. But they can achieve their dream. You must believe in yourself.

I have a dream. I want to travel all over the world. I want to see World Heritages. I will go to the west coast in the USA with my friend in this fall; I will see the Grand Canyon. I’m saving money by working hard at my part time job. I want to continue to make my dream.

Who is your most believable person?

Play

Can you belive another person all the time? I think  I can only believe in myself. My parents brought me up for nineteen years. they are great and I really respect them, but I don’t think my parents always says true things.

We cannot live without  make a decision.Like in Love, in Studies, in Future… We always face decision. Lots of people give me advice, but it’s just advice and not a promise, so I have to decide by myself in the end all the time. Suppose I gave up my opinion and imitate everyone. I’ll regret it , if that is a bad result. Even if I made a mistake I can accept that, because I made a decision by myself. Moreover I might learn from the mistake.

Sometimes people who we trust betray us. To connect lots of people is a good thing, but to trust people easily will bring about crime onece in a while. For example I heard about a girl who killed her boyfriend after he betrayed her trust.

The important thing is a accepting advice around me, believe in myself and stuck to my thinking.

Finally, who is your most believable person? YES, IT’S ME!

Can you speak English? In Japan we study English at least 6years, from junior high school to high school. 6 years is really long periods, but despite of this fact many people can’t speak English. The line between fate and coincidence

Play

People believe in many things, religion, the family, love and so on. There is a quote I’d like to introduce. “If a love is to be unforgettable, fortuities must immediately start fluttering down to it like birds to St. Francis of Assisi’s shoulders” (Milan Kundera) . This means that if love is to be powerful, it must have coincidences. I’d like to talk about whether coincidence could be fate. Continue reading

To be an achiever….

Play

Hello, my name is Daiki. I’m a junior student in a University in Japan. My majors are Communication and Linguistics. I believe that everyone’s dreams can come true, if each person makes an effort. I’d like to talk about my experience. When I was a junior high school student, I had one dream. This dream was to be able to speak English like native speakers. Do you think this dream is too big to come true? Actually, I thought it was so big for me…

We Japanese start learning English from junior high school. I thought,” If I could speak and understand English fully, I might enjoy a lot of movies without Japanese subtitles”. I wasn’t able to speak and understand English during my junior high school life. However, my turning point came when I was a 16-years old high school student; my school invited a couple of exchange students around the world. I was 16; one Germany student joined my class. He couldn’t speak Japanese well, so I decided to work as his interpreter. I always wrote notebooks in two languages, English and Japanese. When we took Kendo classes, I translated traditional sport words, for example suriashi as ‘kendo step’, shinai as ‘bamboo sword’ and so on. To improve my accent and pronunciation, what I did was watch a lot of movies, video clips on YouTube, and animations. And, I was talking a lot with foreigners.

Since my campus life started, I’ve been taking a lot of English classes. I practiced grammar and pronunciation every day. Sometimes, I did it with my friends, exchange students, and teachers. At other times, I did it alone. That’s why, some of my friends said “Your accent is like American.”And, when I went to America, I was talking to a casher. The casher said “I thought you were a local person”. I’m very proud of this. What I want to tell you is “just do your best to make your dreams come true! “ Mine did.
